ALPFA Boston Chapter hosts the

“Looking Beyond the Horizon, Managing in Times of Change”

BOSTON, November 2, 2009 – The Boston chapter of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) is hosting its 7th Annual Executive Summit on Thursday, November 12, 2009. This year’s summit will take place at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston, MA and will feature a free career fair from 2-5pm and summit tracks from 5-10pm. The summit’s topic, Looking Beyond the Horizon, Managing in Times of Change, will provide attendees with crucial information and strategies to remain competitive during this economic downturn.

At the career fair, attendees can expect a wide range of current ALPFA Boston sponsors, for example, lead sponsors, Liberty Mutual and State Street, and platinum sponsor TJX, in addition to other ALPFA supporting companies such as Staples, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Prudential, to name a few. Giveaways and refreshments will be available to attendees at the fair. For a complete list of exhibitors and to register, please visit the executive summit career fair site: http://www.alpfaboston.org/index.html.

Following the career fair, the executive summit will commence with opening remarks from Paul Francisco, ALPFA Boston Chapter President, and an opening keynote address by James Kase, Executive Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing at State Street. Mr. Kase will offer State Street’s support of ALPFA and will introduce the keynote speaker of the night, Mr. Paul G. Alexander, Senior Vice President of Communications at Liberty Mutual. At the summit, ALPFA Boston will also honor three exemplary individuals, Margaret Dillon, Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Personal Markets at Liberty Mutual for the Diversity Leadership and Service Award, and Yadires Nova Salcedo and Angel Salcedo, hosts and producers of Encuentro Latino for the Excellence in Service to the Community Award.

The Executive Summit will also offer attendees three concurrent tracks/breakout sessions. Track One exposes attendees to the business and health care industries: Personal Branding: It’s All About You and Managing in Times of Change in the Health Care Industry. Track Two features the Women of ALPFA (WOA) panel, Outstanding Women Dealing with Outstanding Change and the ALPFA Law panel, Don’t Just Survive – Thrive: Business Development Strategies in Good Times and Bad. Track Three offers a student session, Transitioning from Backpacks to Briefcase, and a Coaching/Mentoring and Transition Group session, How to Land a Position in Tough Times. As an additional incentive, attendees can earn one unit of CPE for several of these sessions.

To end the summit, attendees will have the opportunity to network with panelists, exhibitors, sponsors and other attendees during ALPFA Boston’s popular networking reception.
