Getting Hired

Speaker:Saundra Lee

The job search process is always difficult but in a job market where supply of candidates far outweighs the supply of jobs it is even more so. Being a “process of elimination” most people approach the job search process with fear and hesitation; this is natural. In this workshop we will walk through the whole process with not mechanics of the step, dos and don’ts but also the tips for adjusting one’s attitude for each step and what the person on the hiring side is thinking.

“Strategies for Changing Careers”

Speaker: Saundra Lee

In the present economic climate any people have found themselves in acareer path that is no longer viable. Some people have been laid off and are taking this opportunity to re-evaluate their career options. This workshop is designed to guide an individual through the process of identifying a new career path, researching what is necessary to break into that career and developing an action plan to make it a reality. Identifying a new career path is more than targeting what is working in this economy. One must understand their own priorities, skills, personality and personal situation to find a career path with the best odds of success for them. This workshop will also outline the necessary “footwork” to researching what training, education and experience is necessary for the chosen career path. Finally, we will breakdown the mechanics of developing a timeline and an action plan for the new career destination.

“Negotiation Skills”

Speaker:Marilyn Santiesteban, Life Coach Professional

Many people dread negotiation, whether for a job offer or a new car. How do you know what to ask for? Which salary indicates self confidence; which one is over the top? We'll start with a brand new premise - negotiation is a team sport with both sides working toward the same goal - instead of the old win/lose model. You'll learn how to price yourself, how and when to initiate salary conversations, and how to develop your personal benefits needs matrix. You'll have the opportunity to negotiate job offers in this workshop and will come away with a step-by-step plan that works for you.

To find more information about Marilyn please see this link.
