ALPFA provides many programs and benefits to aspiring Latino students interested in accounting, finance, business, or related career professions. Benefits of student membership include access to scholarship opportunities, skills development workshops, networking with key hiring professionals and sponsors, and discounts on various ALPFA events.
Student programs and events include:
ALPFA’s Annual Scholarship Program
ALPFA offers scholarships to students, in the US or Puerto Rico, who are pursuing undergraduate/graduate studies. The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage those students who have demonstrated academic excellence and financial need to continue pursuing their professional careers. Over the past 3 years, ALPFA has awarded students over $457,000 in scholarship money.
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and ALPFA
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and ALPFA have partnered to provide financial resources to assist outstanding Latino students. The award amount ranges from $1,000 to $10,000.
Some of the students selected are invited to attend the ALPFA with all expenses paid for. All those who apply will also receive a complimentary ALPFA Student membership.

MSCPA/ALPFA Scholarship ($2,500)
The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage students from diverse ethnic backgrounds who have demonstrated academic excellence and financial need to pursue a career in public accounting in Massachusetts.
Two scholarships, in the amount of $2,500, are made possible through the generosity of the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) and the Educational Foundation of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA).

New England College of Business & ALPFA Partnership
New England College of Business and Finance (NECB) is a proud partner with ALPFA. In addition to offering two graduate scholarships annually to ALPFA members, NECB is extending tuition discounts of up to 25% toward the completion of an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at New England College of Business and Finance.
The tuition discount and credit transfer offer is extended to any ALPFA Member and their immediate family members.

This annual multi-sponsor event offers student members and companies an opportunity to engage each other around internships, career opportunities, and company product and service offerings. Our Student Summit offers

The event brings together students and professionals from across the U.S.

KPMG Case Study Competition
KPMG sponsors the ALPFA student case study competition, which brings together accounting students from over 30 schools to solve complex accounting cases and present their findings to KPMG and ALPFA accounting professionals at ALPFA’s annual national convention. The competition teams students with KPMG professionals for several months of case preparation. The KPMG advisor provides their knowledge, experience, and time to assist the students as they research potential solutions to their cases. The experience exposes the students to the possibilities of what it may be like to work at a Big Four firm.
